ABOUT THE PROJECT
This project focuses on the La Linière refugee camp in France, demonstrating the importance of archives for minorities. Located in the Grande-Synthe region of Dunkirk, France, the La Linière camp was the first official refugee camp in France, aiming to provide better living conditions for the refugees of the former Basloch camp.

Our project benefits significantly from a robust and enduring partnership with the Refugee Women's Centre, which enriches our collection with additional refugee memories. The online platform is more than a mere chronological record of historical events; it is a comprehensive repository that amalgamates information from diverse media sources, including stories, photographs, audio recordings, and diaries. The situated testimony approach creates immersive three-dimensional models that transport people back to the camps, allowing them to experience the fragmented history and preserve precious memories through digital preservation.
We hope this unique archival platform will be widely shared to support education and research.
