According to long-time volunteers, there have been problems with the playground in front of the Children's Centre. At one time the playground had dangerous terrain with large boulders covering the main play area. Additionally the inadequate drainage system resulted in frequent pooling of water in the play area. Also the playground structure does not currently have a suitable impact base so children can injure themselves when using the slides, swings and climbing frame areas.
The reason for re-establishing the children's play area was also due to the unstable living situation that the children were in, where the children were constantly stressed and restless. So with the help of volunteers a safe, exciting, enjoyable and relaxing playground was created for the children to use.
